EXIF cleaner

Strip EXIF metadata from photos before sharing. GPS coordinates, camera serial, timestamps removed. Pixel data preserved. Browser-based, zero upload.

INPUT

How it works

Loads your image into a Canvas and re-encodes the pixels to a fresh JPEG or PNG blob. Re-encoding at quality 95 produces visually identical output with zero EXIF, IPTC, or XMP metadata. The download is generated as a Blob URL in memory; no upload anywhere.

FAQ

Why strip EXIF?
EXIF metadata can leak GPS coordinates, camera serial numbers, and timestamps that you may not want to share publicly when posting photos online.
Will this lose image quality?
Re-encoding at quality 95 produces a near-identical JPEG. Visual difference is imperceptible. PNG output is lossless.
What metadata gets stripped?
All EXIF, IPTC, and XMP metadata: GPS, camera make/model, capture date, copyright, software, lens info, comments. Pixel data is preserved.
Does this preserve transparency?
Yes for PNG output. JPEG output flattens transparency to white as JPEG does not support alpha channel.
Is the image uploaded?
No. All processing happens in your browser using Canvas and Blob APIs. The page makes zero network calls after load.
